Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has announced the result of GUJCET 2025.

This year more than 1.26 lakh students took the exam, who were competing for admission in engineering and pharmacy courses. The top performers in the result have scored amazingly, with 1,290 students scoring above 99 percentile. Along with that, many students had to face some challenges too.

GUJCET Result 2025 Statistics: GUJCET 2025 percentile-wise split indicates that Pharmacy students performed better than the Engineering group, and more than 4,700 students scored in excess of the 94 percentile.

Participation in the exam and candidate details

A total of 1,29,912 students registered for GUJCET 2025 and 1,26,197 students appeared for the exam. The number of male candidates was 68,230 and the number of female candidates was 57,967. In Group A (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), 49,259 students had registered, out of which 47,739 appeared for the exam. In Group B (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), 80,290 were registered and 78,188 appeared for the exam. In AB group, 363 had registered, out of which 270 appeared for the exam.

Topper and Percentile Distribution

This year 1,279 students scored above 99 percentile, of which 489 were from Group A and 790 from Group B. These students will go on to qualify for admission in top engineering and pharmacy colleges in Gujarat. 12,741 candidates scored above 90 percentile, which makes them strong for admission in top colleges like LD College of Engineering, Nirma University, and Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University.

Relation between marks and percentile

  • 100th Percentile: 120/120 marks
  • 95–99th Percentile: 115–119 marks
  • Above 90th percentile: Often above 108 marks

Some students had difficulty

Apart from the top scorers, more than 50,400 students have scored marks below the 40th percentile. There are 19,180 candidates in Group A and 31,259 candidates in Group B in this category. This data shows how competitive the exam was and how students need to do more focused preparation.

Performance according to district and exam center

Urban districts performed well. Morbi district achieved the highest pass rate of 92.91%, followed by Bhavnagar (90.82%) and Jamnagar (90.85%). Rajkot and Ahmedabad Rural also performed well. The pass rate was low in Dahod and Chhota Udaipur districts, where only 59.15% and 54.94% students were able to pass.

Among the exam centres, Ghusia (Gir) showed the highest pass rate of 96.11%, while Khatalwara had the lowest pass rate of 57.35%.

Analysis of Gender and Special Categories

Female candidates achieved a pass rate of 83.20%, which is close to the 83.79% achieved by male candidates. Of the 143 differently-abled candidates, 77.62% cleared the exam, including 26 students who qualified under the relaxed standards. This reflects the inclusive approach of the board.

Exam Pattern and Evaluation

There are a total of 120 multiple choice questions in GUJCET 2025. Every correct answer carries 1 mark and a wrong answer carries a deduction of 0.25 marks. This exam is an important gateway for admission into engineering and pharmacy courses. 5% seats in government and aided colleges are reserved for JEE Main qualifiers.

Counselling and further process

After the result is declared, Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) will start counselling. Candidates will have to register online to participate in counselling. Students with top percentile have higher chances of getting admission in prestigious colleges. Counselling registration will remain open from 24 March to 20 May 2025.

For students who could not qualify or want to improve their scores, dates for supplementary exams will be announced soon. The board has asked candidates to keep checking the official website for updates.

People’s reaction and analysis

There have been mixed reactions to the GUJCET 2025 results. Top scorers are being praised, but concerns have also been expressed for students scoring below the 40th percentile. Experts are saying that students in rural and underperforming areas need more support and coaching.

A senior education official said, “This year’s results reflect both the challenges and opportunities for science and technology education in Gujarat.”
